Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate Excursion: A full day journey crossing the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass, visiting Berber villages, and the famous Moroccan kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, “one of Morocco’s UNESCO world heritage sites“.
We start from Marrakech driving through the High Atlas Mountains over Tizin’Tichka pass (2.260m), the highest in Africa, from where you can admire the beautiful mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages.

Notice the difference between the two sides of the chain: the North maintains a clear Mediterranean character, while the South is much more arid and Saharan. This difference appears in the vegetation, but also in the mode of construction of traditional housing that takes into account different climatic conditions.
