Day 1: Ouarzazate
Arrival at Ouarzazate airport. Transfer to the hotel / riad. Dinner and night.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Tamegroute – Mhamid
In the morning: visit of Ouarzazate, the Kasbah of Taourirt and the cinema museum.
Afterwards, departure for a trip in the desert. Cross the majestic Draa Valley, with its millions of date palms and hundreds of old kasbahs.
On the way, visit the Kasbah of Tamegroute, its Koranic library and its pottery workshops.
Arrival at M’Hamid, the end of the Tarred road and gateway to the desert.
Night and dinner at M’hamid.
Day 3: Mhamid
After breakfast at the Kasbah Hotel, you will start a morning excursion across the Draa River to an old village to explore the 07 fortified Kasbahs where you will experience the local life and sip a tasty cup of tea. Return to the hotel for lunch break. Afternoon free to relax around the swimming pool.
Dinner and overnight at the Kasbah.
Day 4: Mhamid – the Sacred Oasis – the dunes of Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, go to visit M’hamid, its local Kasbahs and its palm grove.
Afterwards, drive to the vastness of the desert. 1st stop at the sacred oasis to meet nomadic tribes and have lunch. Around 3:00 pm, vehicles drive us through the desert landscapes. To reach the magical desert of Erg Chegaga.
After settling in your tents, you will witness the picturesque and unique sunset behind the dunes.
A tasty dinner will be served in your tents around the campfire. Overnight in tents.
Day 5: Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, departure for a camel ride.
Stop at the nomads for a tea break, then picnic lunch in the desert.
Return to the camp in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 6: Erg Chegaga – Ouarzazate
Wake up in the morning to witness the magnificent sunrise, before having a traditional breakfast in the restaurant tent.
Return to Ouarzazate via Tazenakht, about 7 hours drive.
Drive by the dry lake of Iriqui. Arrival at the village of Foum Zguid after 3 hours of panoramic drive in the rocky desert. Stop at the Berber village of Taznakht for lunch and visit of a women’s cooperative weaving carpets in the traditional way. Arrival in Ouarzazate around 5 pm.
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Flight back
Breakfast and transfer to Ouarzazate airport.
